Manneken Pis

27 March 2019 by Manuel João

The most famous statue in Brussels, a naked boy urinating to the sink of a fountain created in 1619.

It’s one of the symbols of the Belgian capital and the perfect example of his humor. I stayed a fan!

There are several legends associated with this statue, but my favorite is: a fire was starting in Brussels and the boy depicted in the statue put out the fire with his pee and thus saved the city from a great fire.
